This year we served over 500 participants from 30 different parishes for our 2025-2026 Confirmation retreats. Inspired by Acts 4:31, the retreat focused on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. The scripture reads “When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.” Just as fire illuminates, refines, and transforms, this retreat invited students to kindle the fire of the Holy Spirit within. Through prayer, teaching, and encounter, they learned about how to build a relationship with the Holy Spirit, receive a deeper outpouring of grace, and be filled with a desire to go out into the world, ready to share all that they've learned and experienced. Specifically, they heard about 3 titles of the Holy Spirit: the animator, the refiner, and the sanctifier, and how the Holy Spirit is actually one of the greatest gifts we could ever receive! Thank you to Holy Apostles, St. Lucy, St. Philip, St. Francis de Sales, Holy Trinity, St. Augustine, & St. Teresa of the Child Jesus, for hosting us as we traveled around the diocese!

We had more than 300 catechumens and candidates come to the Cathedral for this liturgical rite as those people journeying in the OCIA move closer to receiving the Sacraments of Initiation.
