"It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost."
GThe theme for the 2025–2026 Confirmation retreats is Power+Promise. Confirmation candidates are invited to discover that God is the ultimate Promise Keeper. Throughout salvation history, God has remained faithful to His promises, culminating in Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit. As candidates prepare for Confirmation, they are called to reflect on God's faithfulness, renew the promises first made at Baptism, and consider their own response to His love. Through Scripture, testimony, quiet reflection, and Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, participants will encounter Christ's invitation to trust Him, embrace the grace of Confirmation, and boldly live as His disciples.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
Each year, these retreats welcome around 500 teenagers from across the diocese. They are powerful days filled with prayer, learning, reflection, community, and, most importantly, encounters with the Lord. Like last year, each retreat will be held at a different parish across the state!
Why Parish Retreats? After prayerful discernment, we believe holding retreats in parishes—rather than at the Rejoice in Hope Center—will bear greater spiritual fruit. Church settings offer a more sacred space for Adoration, especially for teens encountering Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time, and visiting different parishes fosters a deeper connection to the wider Church community.
Cost for Retreats The cost for this year's retreats are $35.00 per candidate, which helps cover materials, meals, and other retreat expenses. Chaperones are welcome at no cost. To streamline processing, we kindly ask that individual checks not be submitted. Instead, please provide a single parish check made payable to "CYO" for the total number of candidates attending.
*Pastors or Catechetical Leaders must register students - individual registrations will not be accepted.
The age range for confirmation retreats is grades 7-12.
